The Skin Specialist Code — Privacy Statement

Who we are. The Skin Specialist Code is a planning tool for skin therapists, run by Katie Bowers (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at katie@thesurreyskinclinic.com about anything in this statement.

What the app stores, and where. Consultation notes, client plans, practice details, product libraries and content plans are stored only in the browser on your own device. They are not uploaded to us and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data or using “Finish Appointment & Start New Client” removes them.

What we receive. The only information sent to us is what you choose to send through the Give Feedback form: your message and the date you sent it. We store it securely and use it only to improve the app. We do not sell or share it with anyone.

Your clients’ information. You are the data controller for any client information you enter. During the beta you must use fictional client information only. If you later use the app with real clients, you are responsible for having consent, keeping the device passcode-protected, and storing or deleting downloaded PDFs securely.

Your rights. You can ask us at any time what feedback we hold from you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing katie@thesurreyskinclinic.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Changes. If this statement changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date.

The Skin Specialist Code — Purchase & Licence Agreement

What you are buying. A one-off payment gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use The Skin Specialist Code in your own practice. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. The licence covers you as an individual practitioner; it may not be shared, resold or given to another business.

Intellectual property. The app, its design, the ABC Method content, templates, wording and all generated structure remain the intellectual property of Katie Bowers. Your purchase gives you the right to use them in your practice — including plans and content you generate for your own clients — but you may not copy, reproduce, resell or redistribute the app, its templates or its method content, in whole or in part.

Maintenance and support. The one-off price includes reasonable bug fixes and updates to the app as released. Support is provided on a best-efforts basis by email at katie@thesurreyskinclinic.com — we will aim to help promptly, but we do not promise or guarantee specific response times, and the app is not monitored continuously. Support covers the app itself; it does not include custom development, one-to-one training, recovering data lost on your own device, or fixing problems caused by other software, browsers or services we do not control. We may update the app over time; major new products may be offered separately.

Your responsibilities. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, for the professional judgement behind every client plan, and for keeping client data safe on your own devices in line with UK GDPR. The app supports your professional work; it does not replace it, and it does not provide medical advice or diagnosis.

Liability. The app is provided with reasonable skill and care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of profits, business, or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in this agreement excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

Refunds. Because access is delivered immediately, please try the beta or demo before buying. If the app is faulty and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Governing law. This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
